Climate
Whistler is set amongst the coastal mountains so the weather can change rapidly. In August the average daily highs are 25C or 70F. The evenings are cooler, with daily lows averaging 10C or 55F.

Visitors to Canada
  • When visiting Canada you will need proof of citizenship, such as a passport or birth certificate, in order to enter.
  • Visitors to Canada may receive a 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST) rebate on all accommodations as well as goods purchased in Canada. You can pick up a rebate form from most retailers, the airport, or border crossing. (All receipts must be validated at the airport before leaving).

Golf Hiking
There is an abundance of hiking trails near Whistler. There are some easy trails, such as the Whistler Valley Trail, as well as some more challenging day hikes.

Horseback Riding
There are many horseback riding companies that offer day trips or afternoon excursions.

    Mountain Biking
    Whistler Mountain is renowned for its mountain biking. Whistler has its own mountain bike park in the summer. There are also some casual trails such as the Valley Trail.

    River Rafting
    There are many rivers near Whistler that are great for river rafting. Rafting ranges from class IV rapids to family floats.

    Fishing
    Fishing was the primary pastime of the early travelers to Whistler. There are many beautiful lakes and rivers near Whistler that are great for fly or spin fishing. Rainbow and cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden, and salmon are all found in the waters near Whistler. http://www.valleyfishing.com

    Vancouver Activities
    There are lots of activities to do in and around the city. You can hike up Grouse Mountain, stroll through Stanley Park, take a ride on the monorail, relax at the beach, or shop along Robson Street. Vancouver is a wonderful city with many things to offer. Below is a list of a few attractions.

    Stanley Park: A large focal point of Vancouver at the tip of the Burrard peninsula. It is a beautiful forested park that is bordered by the ocean. There are many activities to do in the park, like hiking, visiting the rose garden or the Children’s Zoo, riding the miniature railway, and playing mini golf. Stanley Park is also home to the Vancouver Aquarium. Downtown & Shopping: Vancouver is a large urban city with lots of shopping. Most of the shopping is concentrated in the downtown area, near Robson Street. For boutique and unique shops and restaurants, stroll through Gastown and Yaletown. Granville Island: Located just south of downtown, Granville island hosts a daily market as well as many interesting shops and art studios.
